Ruth Corry is an award winning harpist from Belfast and has been playing the harp for over 20 years. She graduated from Durham University with a BA (Hons) in Music where she was awarded a first class for her final recital, and where she also completed a PGCE in Primary Teaching, graded outstanding.

She has toured Germany as a member of the award winning Irish Harp Orchestra, including performing in the Munich Philharmonic and the Cologne Philharmonic. Ruth was delighted to perform as a soloist in Malta for St Patrick's Day Celebrations in 2016, including performing in St Patrick’s Church and for The Irish Emerald Society’s Gala Reception. Ruth has performed live on BBC Radio 4 and BBC Radio Ulster and as a member of the Irish Harp Orchestra performed live on BBC 2 with Alfie Boe for the Titanic Commemoration Concert in The Waterfront Hall, Belfast.

Ruth has performed for many prestigious events in Northern Ireland, including performing for the President of Ireland on two occasions, for Lady Mary Peter’s 80th Birthday Celebrations in Titanic Belfast, for the 20th Anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement, for the Irish Football Association Gala Dinner in Hillsborough Castle, for the 70th Anniversary of Ferrari in Hillsborough Castle, for many international conferences, for the launch of a new Bentley car and on board a cruise ship docking in Belfast. Ruth performed ‘My Lagan Love’ at the funeral of the late Northern Irish actor, James Ellis. She performed a solo recital in The MAC Belfast and also for the 220th Anniversary of the Belfast Harp Festival in The Linen Hall Library. Ruth’s recent performances include the Freedom of the Borough conferment ceremony for Gary Lightbody OBE, Lunn’s Jewellers Showcase in Hillsborough Castle, corporate events in Belfast Harbour Commissioners Office and events for Titanic Belfast.

During her time at Durham University, Ruth was resident harpist for ‘Free to Be’ in Durham Cathedral, featured on a Spanish film soundtrack and performed as a soloist in The Glasshouse International Centre for Music. Ruth enjoys a busy career performing for weddings, events and concerts, teaching and composing for the harp. Ruth released her first solo album of harp music, Memories & Melodies in 2017 and her second album, Notes from the Heart, funded by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland was released in November 2021. Ruth also works as a musician on behalf on Music in Hospitals & Care, a charity that improves the health and wellbeing of children and adults through the healing power of live music. In 2023, Ruth founded the Sky Harp Ensemble and they had their first performance in November 2023 in The Ulster Museum, Belfast.
